Dr. Renee Alsarraf’s debut memoir "Sit, Stay, Heal: What Dogs Can Teach Us About Living Well" celebrates the human-animal bond in its deepest form. Full of life lessons, love, and heartwarming stories, "Sit, Stay, Heal" gives the reader a front row seat to a dedicated veterinarian and devoted mom as she faces the diagnosis of her own cancer. Renee attended Michigan State University for undergraduate studies and veterinary school. A board-certified veterinary medical oncologist, Renee created 4 medical oncology practices and 3 radiation centers for animals. She’s been in private practice for 30 years. Currently, Renee works as a consultant for PetCure Oncology. She has brought her therapy dogs to nursing homes, helped special needs children ride horseback, competed in obedience trials with her boxers and created MSU’s Pet Loss Support Group. When not writing or taking care of her four-legged patients, Renee loves to hunt for antiques, garden, cook (and eat!) and passionately screams at the tv during college football season. Though she roots for the Spartans, Renee is a true-blue Michigan Wolverines fan. While she spends time in Rhode Island, much of Renee’s time is spent in Montclair, New Jersey, with her loving husband, cherished son and bossy female boxer. www.sitstayhealbook.com
