Kay Hall is a 25-year-old pilot, turned social media creator. She continuously inspires millions of people by sharing
her adventures around the country with her beloved airplane, “Lil Red”, a 1968 Piper Cherokee 180.
Before her breakthrough on social media, Kay was 22 and living paycheck to paycheck, until she took a chance and
joined a national flight school. As soon as the wheels of her Cessna 150 lifted off the ground, Kay knew that this
was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. She began to save every penny she could and would pour her
paychecks into her savings so she could save up to go on more flights. After securing a loan, she was finally
able to go through the entire 9-month program and get her license. Soon after, she began to work as a flight
instructor.
But, after losing her job due to the pandemic, Kay was thrust into a mundane, stay at home life. Without her beloved flights, she was overcome with boredom and was stuck in a rut. Finally her family decided to work together to buy
Kay her very own airplane so she could continue adding to her flight hours. And in comes “Lil Red”!
She and Lil Red would frequently fly across the country to help her grandparents, who also lived in isolation due to
the pandemic. While on these long flights, there were long stretches of time where she didn’t really have much to
do. So, she decided to document her flights and share them on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
And it was a hit! The more she posted, the higher her follower count climbed. Soon after, she found her TikTok
account reaching over 2 million followers, while her Instagram reached 100k, and those numbers still rapidly
increase every single day.
Now, even though she’s amassed a large social media following, Kay continues to pursue her dream of flying. She
still adds to her flight hours and continues to inspire her viewers from around the globe
