With over forty years of experience in the utilities industry, Ken Sheridan is recognized as a key influencing factor in making Louisville Gas and Electric and Kentucky Utilities (LG&E and KU) companies and Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. among the top utility industry safety performers nationally and internationally.
Sheridan’s aggressive and energetic approach to safety, combined with the implementation of behavior-based techniques, is the key to his positive impact on employees and business partners.
As a result of his influence, LG&E and KU won many national and international awards and frequently serves as a benchmark for other companies’ safety goals. Ken was instrumental in enhancing safety awareness and performance among utilities and organizations in the U.S. and abroad, including the United Kingdom and Albania. Ken served as Director of Safety and Technical Training, Director of Operations and Public Safety, Operations Manager, District Manager, Service Manager, and Safety Coordinator.
Nearly five years ago, Ken joined the Davis H. Elliot Company, where he created and developed the No Compromise Moments video library and served on the SIF Prevention Team. To this day, he remains a member of the Davis H. Elliot Corporate Safety Governance Team. While working for Davis H. Elliot, Ken wrote and published his first book, No Compromise: The Truth about Workplace Safety & Business Success.
In addition, Ken served as chair of the Kentucky Labor Cabinet’s Apprenticeship and Training Council since 2006, a position for which he was appointed by the Kentucky governor. He graduated from Murray State University in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in health and sociology and completed numerous hours of postgraduate work in the field of human relations.
