I am a psychologist who struggled for many years with his mental health before deciding to write my first book.
Then I looked into alternative treatments like CBT and DBT (dialectical behavior therapy). I chose DBT because it seemed to be the most all-encompassing method for handling my feelings.
I began seeing a DBT-focused therapist and participating in DBT skills training groups. And that was the turning point in my existence. Through DBT, I gained insight into my feelings, developed healthy coping mechanisms, and established limits within my interpersonal relationships.
Though it was a long and arduous road, I finally mastered the art of self-regulation.
The desire to alleviate the suffering of others is what drove me—inspiring others with my knowledge and skills to work toward making the world a better, more livable place for all of us.
Only I realized that many people do not know where to start. They lacked a foundation. That's why I decided to write.
