Virginia Scidmore was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She joined the military at the age of seventeen and never looked back. Virginia has always been a detail-oriented person. Her quest for continued knowledge, combined with her time in the military, has opened her mind to interests she never would have discovered had she never left home. She met the love of her life in an Air Force uniform, and they have two children together, which prompted Virginia to rethink how to enhance and redesign their home to make it an enjoyable atmosphere and crave out her own sacred space. This quest for wholeness inspired her to write "From Bleak to Beautiful". She has consistently pushed the limits of her knowledge to better her family’s lives and was tired of settling for what was rather than what could be. Moving six times in the past nine years certainly opened her eyes to different living situations and means. Virginia’s keen eye for detail translates through every page as she attempts to help readers understand the importance of interior design while learning how to master your individual style that will result in creating your own slice of heaven on Earth. By understanding how something works Virginia helps readers know why it might be best for them. This dedication to improving lives drives her to greater heights of success. Virginia has tapped into the quiet vein of the world where far too many of us accept how our home looks rather than attempting to make it better. Her insights and experience provide the knowledge to enact fundamental changes throughout your home with minimal effort.
