A ten year contributor and columnist for Blue Skies Magazine and host of The Lunatic Fringe Podcast, Dean Ricci has 28 years in air-sports both as a professional skydiver and professional pilot. With the publication of his first book The Accidental Stripper, Dean refined his conversational, storytelling tone and style by recounting in lighthearted detail some of the most outrageous experiences in his career as a male exotic dancer that spanned more than eleven years. With a short story feel to it, The Accidental Stripper made easy his segue to a more than decade long collaboration with skydivings most popular publication, Blue Skies Magazine. As the publication came to an end, Dean compiled each of his monthly columns for Blue Skies into The Lunatic Fringe Book, bringing his entire body of work for the magazine together not only in print form, but as an audiobook as well. His third book, The Upside of Fear once again has it's roots deep within the sport of skydiving, this time tackling the difficult balance between fear, safety, and panic in a sport where a loss of control can mean the difference between life and death. With contributions from some of the greatest athletes in the sport who share some of their most challenging moments in honest and heartfelt essays, The Upside of Fear offers insights on how to not simply learn to live with fear, but to harness it's potentially beneficial effects. As with The Lunatic Fringe Book, The Upside of Fear is also available in both print and audiobook formats. With a conversational and sometimes edgy tone, Dean brings to life both his fiction and non-fiction works, offering both entertainment and education, coupled with a solid dash of 'in your face'.
