Athina Veloudou

Athina is the Greek co-author of the Adventure in Greece series, written with her English husband, Hugh. Athina grew up in Athens. After graduating from the Athens School of Fine Arts, she moved to London to live with Hugh, whom she met while studying on the Erasmus exchange programme at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich. Since then, they have been living and working in London and Scotland. Athina has been involved in coordinating various artistic and educational projects in Greece, Germany and the UK. She has also worked as a children’s painting teacher and loves being creative every day. Athina enjoys introducing Hugh to all things Greek, especially when they travel to Greece to spend time with her family, and she is keen to help him learn the language. Given their creative backgrounds, the two of them decided to write in their free time, creating the stories (and laboriously debating over the best translations) which they hope will transport their readers to Greece and give them a rewarding sense of adventure and achievement.
