Dr. Korie Leigh has been a practicing grief counselor, child life specialist, and child development expert for over 17 years. She supports children and families to navigate the complexities of illness, loss, grief, and other life transitions. Dr. Leigh also specializes in working with bereaved parents, specifically child related losses of miscarriage, stillbirth, termination for medical reasons, and childhood death from illness. Dr. Korie Leigh holds a PhD in Psychology, a MA in Public Health & Thanatology and has multiple certifications and trainings in creative expression, mindfulness, grief and bereavement, and play based approaches In her 17 years of clinical experience, she has worked in pediatric hospitals, adult hospice, pediatric palliative and hospice care settings, and private practice. Currently, Dr. Leigh is an Associate Professor and Program Director for the Thanatology department at Marian University. She also works individually with children and families in her private practice and serves on the board of directors for Heros' Path Palliative- facilitating family support groups and individuals psychosocial care to children and their siblings with medically complex diagnosis.
