Dr. Amy Mariaskin is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience treating OCD, anxiety and related disorders. She has worked across the southeast with adults, adolescents, children, and families affected by these disorders. Dr. Mariaskin is passionate about treatment across the lifespan and enjoys helping people overcome their symptoms with compassion, creativity, and humor. She strives to create a sensitive and affirming therapeutic experience for all of her clients and has a particular interest in working with LGBTQ+ youth. Moreover, she recognizes the role that systemic racism, sexism, and oppression play in the development and expression of anxiety and related concerns. Dr. Mariaskin received her bachelors degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and her masters and doctoral degrees from Duke University. She completed her internship and post-doctoral work at the University of Florida. She has been providing therapy services in Nashville since 2011 and opened the Nashville OCD & Anxiety Treatment Center in 2018. Dr. Mariaskin is also an adjunct professor at Vanderbilt University where she provides supervision to graduate doctoral students. In addition to clinical and supervisory experience, Dr. Mariaskin has published in the field and is an active speaker at local and national conferences on the topics of OCD, anxiety, and child mental health. She is a faculty member of the International OCD Foundation and has been featured as an anxiety expert in various media. Her book, Thriving in Relationships When You Have OCD, published by New Harbinger Publications, will come out in December 2022. In her free time, Dr. Mariaskin enjoys drawing, swimming, plant-based cooking, traveling, and writing about herself in the third person.
