Dr. Jeff Hanson is a Lecturer at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. He has been teaching engineering courses such as Engineering Graphics, Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Material Science, Engineering Ethics, Engineering Economics, and Senior Design since 2004. Hanson earned all three of his degrees from Texas Tech University, finishing his PhD in the fall of 2007. He has over 20 years of experience as an engineer in industry before moving to a career in academia. This experience helps bring real world examples and experience into the classroom further enhancing his lectures.
Hanson has a real passion for student learning and engineering education. For over 10 years he has led students in study abroad, teaching in Spain during the summers. With a huge presence on YouTube, his engineering lessons reach students all around the globe. The YouTube channel “Jeff Hanson” has over 200,000 subscribers with over 25 million views. Here you can find lessons on Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Thermodynamics, and Algebra. In Addition to The YouTube lessons, Hanson has become an author writing an engineering series that accompanies his YouTube videos. The first book, “How to Ace Statics with Jeff Hanson”, is available now and a second book, “How to Ace Mechanics of Materials with Jeff Hanson” is currently in the works.
In his spare time, Hanson enjoys hunting, fishing, cares and motorcycles. He and his wonderful wife, Amy, have two children, Jacob and Madison.
