C. R. Buchanan’s fascination with writing piqued in middle school, where he won his 1st writing contest for his story, “Attack of the killer croutons from a planet somewhere near Mars!” It was full of grammatical errors and misspellings, but the oddest, funniest, and most original story that year.
Later in life, he plunged himself headfirst into the world of writing and acting to become an author, pen multiple feature films, blossom into a novelist, and won Best Supporting Actor 2019 at The International Film Festival in Madrid, Spain. Now, he is penning the Sci-Fi/Fantasy blended WolfStar novel series.
His first two books, The Tower (filming in Thailand), and BINARY were his initial steppingstones that got his feet wet as a novelist. On another note: he’s also a seasoned script editor, story editor, former professional fighter, and a bit of a goofball.
C. R. Buchanan has a love for life and everything in it. From wildlife to plants and Mother Nature, though he has gotten injured a few times by getting too close to it, there is nothing about the outdoors he does not like. Between Florida, Verginia, Georgia, Alaska, California, Nevada, and everything in between, he has lived in and hiked some of the most beautiful and dangerous areas of the United States.
He currently lives in Alabama, where he takes care of his mother, visits family, and tends the land. Donkeys, dogs, cats, and even a pet squirrel or two highlight a life of deer, chipmunks, raccoons, and splitting logs to load their wood-burning stove for warmth in the winter. Far away from people and finding peace and tranquility in life to write is all he needs to be happy, besides love in his heart.
C. R. Buchanan is headfirst into writing every day and moment he has free, unless his mother’s chilly recipe is thrown into the mix. It is at that moment he will get off his butt long enough to add a few inches to his belly. After that, a gym is in order.
