Dwight E. Brooks is a former Dean of the College of Communication and Media Sciences at Zayed University (United Arab Emirates). Brooks has also served as vice dean of Hofstra University’s Lawrence Herbert School of Communication and as director of the School of Journalism at Middle Tennessee State University. Brooks is an accomplished academic leader in fostering shared governance, international education, and student success. His research on race, gender and media has been published in various academic journals and books. His love of music inspired his short book on Earth, Wind & Fire. He has worked professionally in commercial and non-commercial radio. Brooks has a master’s degree from The Ohio State University and doctorate from The University of Iowa. He resides in Jacksonville, Florida with his wife Marie.
