Lauren Mote

Lauren Mote is a sought-after consultant and expert in the global spirits industry. Lauren is the Global Director of On-Trade Excellence for Patrón Tequila and a founding partner of Bittered Sling Bitters. She's also the co-founder of Women Celebrate – a social media initiative to highlight women and fem folx in the drinks industry and their achievements.

An active member and educator within the global spirits industry, Mote has led seminars at Bar Convent Berlin and Sao Paulo, TED, Vancouver, Barometer and presented at World's 50 Best Bars Awards. Lauren is a part of the Tales of the Cocktail Culture, Education and Spirited Awards committees, and in 2022 was appointed global co-chair of the business committee. In July 2022, Lauren was awarded "Best International Bar Mentor" by the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards, and previously recognized by her industry peers as one of the top 4 "International Brand Ambassadors of the Year 2019", top 4 "Best Bar Mentor 2020". Lauren was also the first Canadian woman inducted into the “Dame Hall of Fame” by Tales of the Cocktail in 2015. Lauren is often included in the industry's best lists, including the Bar World 100 by Drinks International, celebrating the very best of the global drinks industry for the past three years.

Lauren’s clients have included small & large brands, both domestic and international, casual and luxury, as well as dozens of bars, restaurants, charitable initiatives and a host of mentees from around the world. Lauren’s first and forthcoming book, “A Bartender’s Guide to the World” will be released October 2022, Appetite by Penguin Randomhouse.
