Maria Karra

Maria Karra is a former aerospace engineer and has over 25 years of experience as a technical translator and interpreter. As a typical Gemini, she has always been torn between two passions: languages and engineering. She holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering physics with a focus on spacecraft design, a master’s in electrical engineering, a master’s in applied linguistics with a focus on second-language acquisition, a master’s in translation and a diploma in medical interpreting. She has a passion for languages (she speaks nine, seven of which fluently) and has written several language textbooks which combine her language expertise with her mathematical thinking, resulting in a very effective structure and language-learning methodology. Maria was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. She has lived in Brussels, Paris, Boston (which means many years of snowstorms and freezing cold), Miami (enough snowstorms, the beach was calling and Maria finally listened), and currently divides her time between West Palm Beach, Florida and Granada, Spain.
