Oli Hein was born in Oxford in 1975, and raised in Mauritius and the UK. Formerly a diplomat with the UN, the OSCE and the UK, he has undertaken postings in Kosovo, Turkmenistan, USA and France. As a regular contributor to The Chap magazine, his articles encompass a wide range of topics, with a particular focus on lesser-known characters from the past.
His sports books are written under Oli Hein, and his history books as Olivier Hein.
He is also a well-known Bilingual voiceover artist, specialising in commercials, e-Learning, documentary narration and animation. As a huge horse-racing enthusiast, he also presents the podcast of both ‘Punch a Hole in the Wind’ and 'Immortals'.
He now lives in the Cotswolds with his wife and 2 children.
