Suzanne Linden

关于作者

Suzi Linden landed in Haines Alaska in 1999. Her life off grid in her tiny cabin at the mouth of the Chilkat River was a fantastically beautiful sojourn in paradise. She learned how to be self reliant and also to rely on the goodness and wisdom of the good people of Haines, Alaska. Her cabin on the estuary, where the river meets the sea water of the Lynn Canal, was built along a bear trail, a salmon sanctuary, a seal feeding ground, an eagle training ground, raven play ground and moose crossing. It is the land of the Tlingit, the first people of the Chilkat. She was lucky to learn some of their songs and stories from working at Alaska Indian Arts with the Chilkat Dancers. She met many traditional totem pole master carvers, artisans and teachers from all over Southeast Alaska and will never forget them. The view and the stories from her time in paradise are etched in her mind and soul. She is grateful for her many days living and vacationing there, where she sat on the beach and drew what she saw.
