Born and raised in a multicultural and multilingual family, Laura R. Williams always had a passion for languages and children's literature. After completing her studies in linguistics and education, she decided to combine her two passions and started writing bilingual children's books.
She is married to her husband from Kenya, and they both live in Paris, France. They have two children, a boy and a girl, and they are trying to teach them their mother tongue. At home, they speak English, Swahili, Spanish and French.
One of Laura's parents speaks Spanish, and this has influenced her love for languages and her desire to help other families raise bilingual children. Her books are mostly picture books, designed to help parents who are raising bilingual children abroad, away from their home country. The books are translated by native speakers of each language, ensuring the highest quality and authenticity of the text.
Through her books, Laura wants to support and encourage families in their effort to maintain their cultural and linguistic heritage, even when living in a foreign country. She believes that bilingualism is a valuable gift that can open many doors and enrich the lives of children and adults alike.
In her free time, Laura enjoys traveling and discovering new languages and cultures. She also loves spending time with her own bilingual children, who are her biggest inspiration and motivation.
