I am professor of theoretical astrophysics at Aalborg University (Denmark). I have a great passion for compact objects (neutron stars, black holes and white dwarfs). My research topics include binary star evolution, supernovae, X-ray binaries, millisecond pulsars and gravitational wave sources. I obtained my PhD in 1997 based on observational investigations (Australia) and theoretical work (Denmark and Holland) on binary millisecond pulsars and their formation. Since then I worked at a number of institutes (Uni. Amsterdam, NORDITA, Copenhagen Uni., Bonn Uni./MPIfR, Aarhus Uni., Aalborg Uni.). I am always keen to give scientific and public talks, and teaching is as important as research to me.
