Henry’s two children love to read. However, they would frequently ask their mother, who is not Korean, to read Korean books to them. Their disappointment when mommy couldn’t read their book of choice got Henry thinking about bilingual books, books that would allow him to read to his children in Korean, while his wife read to them in English. To his dismay, there was limited availability of English and Korean bilingual books in the United States, especially regarding the history of Korea. Henry decided to use his background in History and Education, along with his long experience as a Korean to English translator, to find a solution. As the author of the Children’s Bilingual Korean History Series, Henry hopes to open the door for children, especially those living outside of Korea, to learn about Korean history.
