Christine Vatovec, PhD, is an environmental health social scientist who studies the bi-directional connections between human health and the environment, including both how the U.S. healthcare system impacts the health of our planet, and how contact with nature benefits human well-being. Dr. Vatovec is a faculty member at the University of Vermont where she is the Planetary Health Program Director for the Osher Center for Integrative Health, a Fellow at the Gund Institute of Environment, and an award-winning Lecturer. She teaches courses on Human Health and the Environment, Planetary Health, Climate Change & Health, and the Science & Evidence of Integrative Health.
