Shannon Wiltsey Stirman, PhD is a clinical psychologist and implementation researcher at Stanford University’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Her clinical work and research focus on training, implementation, sustainability, and adaptation of cognitive behavioral therapies for individuals with PTSD, depression, suicidality, and anxiety. She regularly provides CBT and Cognitive Processing therapy training and consultation to therapists in the community and in the VA. She is passionate about finding ways for people who can't access traditional therapy to get help and support for trauma recovery and wellbeing. In addition to co-writing this book, she is currently studying CPT in an asynchronous messaging format. Also, with colleagues, she recently developed pam.stanford.edu, a free web-based program to support wellbeing for individuals who experience high levels of stress, are recovering from trauma, or are struggling with depressed mood. Shannon lives in San Francisco with her 3 children and a dog, and in her free time you can find her hiking, cooking, reading, skiing or traveling.
