Simon Watkins

Simon Watkins worked for many years as a senior Forex trader and salesman, including positions of Head of Forex Institutional Sales for Credit Lyonnais, and Director of Forex at Bank of Montreal. He then moved into financial journalism, including as Head of Weekly Publications, Managing Editor and Chief Writer for Business Monitor International, Head of Global Fuel Oil Products for Platts, and Global Managing Editor of Research for Renaissance Capital. He has written extensively on commodities, Forex, equities, bonds, economics and geopolitics for many publications, including: The Financial Times, Euromoney, Financial Times Capital Insights, OilPrice, NewsBase, FX-MM, World Finance Magazine, and Risk.net. In addition, he has worked as a risk consultant for hedge funds in London, New York, Moscow, and the Middle East. This is Simon’s eighth book on the global financial markets and his fourth on the oil market.
