Ann Gupton

关于作者

Ann Gupton, COTA/L, CLT, TMRC, has 30+ years' experience as a rehabilitation specialist in occupational therapy. She has worked in acute care, in-patient, out-patient, and home health. She especially loves working with neurological patients such as stroke survivors. She says, "Stroke is a life-changing event, not just for the patient but also for the family members who must learn a whole new way of interacting with and caring for their loved one." With rehabilitation stays being cut so short by insurance companies, there is little time for training. That is why she began "Stroke Caregivers Support Group" on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/3213888985328704, with over 10k members. Her YouTube channel, "Surprisingly Simple Stroke Care", with easy-to-follow stroke recovery videos, can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZA9gVCJ4vmo. "My desire is to give hope and inspiration with a lot of know-how to new caregivers in need of a guide. I want to limit their panic and increase their knowledge." Ann's newly released book, Stroke Caregiver Survival Handbook, found at https://amzn.to/3MXQawh, provides a step-by-step guide for new caregivers of stroke survivors to make the rehab and healing process easier to understand and much easier to do. It's written in common language and contains hundreds of photos that anyone can follow. Topics covered include customizable exercise programs, what to do about stroke-induced emotional changes, room-by-room home safety measures, how to choose adaptive equipment, how to engage your loved one in brain-enhancing activities, hiring a caregiver if you need help, and so much more. 5-star reviews are common for Ann's work throughout her career and this book is no different. It's the best of her 30+ years of experience in helping stroke survivors and their families. Ann lives in Nashville, Tennessee, is married, and has two adult daughters.
