In his professional life, Scott has been the producer of "Seize the Day with Gus Lloyd" on the Catholic Channel on SiriusXM since 2012. He's been with the channel since 2011 and with SiriusXM since 2007. In his time there, he's produced five original audio documentaries that have aired nationally. The subjects have been Pope Francis (two parts), Pope Benedict XVI, Mother Teresa and the History of the Catholic Channel, which celebrated the channel's 10th year. SiriusXM even thought enough of the Mother Teresa and Pope Benedict documentaries to submit them for New York Festivals Awards. Though he didn’t walk away a winner, it spurred him to write a book. Scott is a fan of all forms of popular music from the 1920s through the 1990s and an avid reader of music biographies. After reading books about the Byrds, the Beach Boys, Bob Dylan and Paul Simon, he sought out a book on the Mamas & the Papas. When he couldn’t find one, he decided to write one. As he tells it, "I had been searching for a subject and this one hit me right over the head." Scott lives in Riegelsville, Pennsylvania with his wife, two children and a pug who put up with his insatiable music obsession. He considers himself a preserver of vintage music from the 1940s through the 1990s. Not only does he shop for it like people shop for groceries, but also puts a daily effort into not only enjoying it but learning about it, understanding those who put it together, studying its roots and sharing it with friends and family. He's the consummate completist who puts the same effort into his writing that he puts into his vast music collection.
