Suzanne Alexander, M.Ed., is the co-author and editor of the newly released book, "The Ancestral Diet Revolution," along with renowned physician, author, nutrition researcher, and speaker Dr. Chris Knobbe, MD. She is a multi-award-winning educator with over 30 years of experience in the classroom and a highly accomplished health and nutrition researcher with over 40 years of research to her credit. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in education from the State University of New York at Cortland. Additionally, Suzanne attended the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford in Connecticut with a major in Opera. Suzanne furthered her graduate studies for many years working towards her Ph.D. in Health and Nutrition. Suzanne, a single parent, is the proud mother of two beautiful daughters, Alexandra and Roxana, and grandmother to precious Claire. Suzanne was Miss New York State 1981 and Top Ten Finalist and Talent Winner at the 1982 Miss America Pageant, a goal she never considered herself worthy of achieving, as Suz was a tomboy who never wore makeup; she lived in flannel shirts, denim overalls, and hiking boots. Certainly, not one you'd ever think would compete in pageants. However, that's quite an amusing tale for another time! Suzanne is a former opera singer and fashion model and was honored to be the cover story for the "55 Plus Magazine" 2016 June/July issue. Ms. Alexander is the Executive Director of Public Relations and Philanthropy at the Ancestral Health Foundation and the Cure AMD Foundation, both nonprofit organizations where neither she nor Dr. Knobbe accepts any compensation for their work in this field. All of the royalties from this book go directly to their two nonprofit foundations. As Suzanne says, she works for God! Suzanne's intriguing childhood is a story in and of itself. While growing up, she assisted her father in raising and rehabilitating wild animals such as raccoons, skunks, foxes, squirrels, deer, groundhogs, rats, and rabbits, along with her domesticated dogs. In her eyes, she believed her father was the genuine Dr. Dolittle. When she entered kindergarten, her dad would ask her to bring home books from the library pertaining to each animal in their care. While sitting on her father's lap, he guided her in reading through each book. She worked alongside her dad, researching and studying each species' special food requirements, habitat, and lifestyle needs, and provided the animals with their species-specific diet. The animals viewed Suzanne and her entire family as part of their litter/pack/herd. Suz lived with them, ate alongside them, sadly, not what they were eating, but rather, primarily processed food. She sang to them and lived as they did - carefree, outside, barefoot, climbing trees, crawling, squatting, jumping, and getting really dirty. Like her father, she had a unique ability to communicate with the animals. She loved them, and they loved her; they became her family, her best friends, for they accepted her for who she was without judging her for her peculiar personality and inadequacies. Not realizing it at the time, this was her introduction to eating and living ancestrally. This was all part of God's plan to prepare her for what He wanted Suz to disseminate to her family, students, clients, and the world in the coming years. As Suz suffered from severe illnesses throughout her childhood and into early adulthood, she knew that God didn't make mistakes. He created all living things to thrive if given their appropriate food, habitat, and lifestyle, just as she had witnessed firsthand while raising the wild animals. This fostered her passion for health and nutrition research and her desire to discover the answers to solving not only her father's and her own devastating ailments but possibly even healing people worldwide. This initiated her first hypothesis at the very early age of ten: "Could the food that she and her father were consuming be causing their chronic illnesses...and therefore, could the food that all humans and living things are consuming promote either health or illness?" Learning additional ancestral life lessons from Suzanne's paternal grandmother, who lived with a tribe in Liberia, West Africa, is another incredible story that Suz will share in the future! Suzanne has been extensively researching her theory, using herself as the 'guinea pig' in her investigations since she was 18. At her current age of 62, her health status is at its most optimum level. She still loves being outside, barefoot, climbing trees, sprinting, squatting, jumping, lifting heavy weights, logs, and rocks, crawling, hiking mountains, tending to her land, and getting really dirty - Living and Eating Ancestrally - surrounded by family, nature, and wild animals. She doesn't want to grow up! One of her favorite quotes written by Bernard Shaw is, "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing." Suzanne's ultimate purpose is to share her findings and to save as many people as possible from the suffering she's witnessed individually, within her family, with her clients, and observed nationally, internationally, and globally. Suzanne's father lost his battle with cancer, a tragic loss that should never have occurred. Her mother has lost her vision due to AMD (Age-Related Macular Degeneration). These diseases, like most others, are preventable. Suzanne believes that she and Dr. Knobbe were placed in each other's lives by God to fulfill His mission. Together they would discover the truth about the cause of most chronic diseases through their extensive education, research, and life experiences and convey this information to the world, saving as many lives as possible from the devastation of the innumerable diseases that now plague our world. Their goals are altruistic and humanitarian. Suz says that her greatest accomplishments and blessings are giving birth to and raising her daughters, Alexandra and Roxana, and being a grandmother to her granddaughter, Claire. She raised her children ancestrally, as God designed humans to flourish. Confirming her very first hypothesis that this way of living does, in fact, prevent illnesses as neither of her daughters ever missed a day of school from kindergarten through their senior year of high school, never required a single antibiotic, never had a cavity, and were 14 and 16 years old at menarche (first period). She considers God the author of her life and lives by His Word. He is the center of all that she is and does.
