Melvina Noel has taught students from pre-school to college and has won awards for her excellent teaching. She is also a certified yoga instructor for both children and adults. She is presently on a journey of writing twelve picture book biographies of lesser known African Americans and she is also working on thematic anthropomorphic picture books. Besides writing picture books for young readers, she enjoys writing poetry, painting in watercolor, playing the piano, studying foreign languages, and baking.
