Sophie Ibbotson is a British writer, explorer, and development consultant specialising in emerging markets. She is the founder of Maximum Exposure, a company focused on tourism and culture development and PR; an advisor to national governments and the World Bank; and Chairman of the Royal Society for Asian Affairs. Sophie's favourite travel experiences to date include driving an auto-rickshaw from India to Kyrgyzstan; leading three expeditions in Afghanistan; and researching and writing the first guidebooks to South Sudan and Karakalpakstan. She lives with her partner, Ed.
