I am a voracious reader and have been since a young age. It is possible that as a child, I spent more time at the library than at home. The library was a sanctuary that did not judge me based on appearance, income, or status. With a library card I could mentally go anywhere or learn anything. I began writing short stories and poetry when I was young, as well. Combined with my preclusion to tell fibs, tall tales, and outright lies, I knew that I was likely to become either a fiction writer or a politician.
