John was born in 1957 into an uncertain future. Given up by his mother at birth, he spent the first few weeks of his life in an orphanage before being adopted into a loving and supporting family. Despite having to manage a rare medical condition affecting his legs, he went on to be one of only 134 pilots to ever fly Concorde for British Airways. After 46 years in the airline business, he's now retired and living in Surrey, England with his wife and has two grown up daughters and one grandson. As well as being an author he is a volunteer at Brooklands Museum in Surrey and an after dinner speaker keen to share his Concorde experience in an inspirational and entertaining way.
