George has spent a half century carving out a successful career as sports broadcaster and writer and his voice is synonymous with the Chicago market. He has covered over 3,500 sporting events including Michael Jordan and the Bulls 2 three-peat championships, the White Sox and Cubs run to World Series titles and three Blackhawks' Stanley Cup Championships. George also worked as an anchor/reporter for WBBM News radio for ten years and prior to that, did the same for WGN Radio where he had the distinct pleasure of covering the Blackhawks Stanley Cup championship game in Philadelphia. George was also a writer and on-air contributor for National Public Radio's "Morning Edition" and "All Things Considered" for 20 years creating some 150 stories and worked as a regular contributor to the CBC radio in Toronto. As an original member of WSCR "The Score"in1992, George was the principle anchor, baseball reporter and originator/co-host of the popular baseball show, "Hit and Run." For 20 years, George was a free-lance broadcast journalist with myriad clients in the US, Canada and London. He created a client base of numerous radio networks and outlets and worked with such notables as Bob Costas, Marv Albert, Kevin Harlan, Charlie Steiner and Keith Olbermann just to mention a few. George is currently the host, writer and editor of “Tell me a story I don’t know,” a podcast about story telling from top sports personalities with connections to Chicago. George also is a tennis enthusiast who wishes his legs were 10 years younger.
