Passionate renewable energy professional experienced in contract negotiations, process development, technical training, service management, business development, and emerging technologies.
After nearly 9 years as a nuclear operator and instructor in the United States Navy, I started my career developing installation and operations NABCEP training for inverter manufacturers Power-One and ABB. From there I developed procedures, policies, and training standards for the Operations and Maintenance division of First Solar.
Looking to grow my leadership and experience into business operations I managed a regional operations team in the Southwest for residential and small commercial operations. At that point, my love was in large-scale solar and joined Duke Energy to help grow and oversee the portfolio of sites as Director of Solar Operations. Managing the budgets, overseeing the performance or assets, and delving into the modeling and bidding of new assets was an incredible experience.
Since I frequently was frustrated by the solar site being curtailed (or shut off) due to excess power on the electric grid, I joined Fluence to drive energy storage forward to ensure all of the future solar assets had a place to store the excess energy to support grid reliability and resiliency.
In alignment with my personality, I joined the American Clean Power Association to promote standardization and the needed changes from a broader industry perspective for solar, wind, and energy storage.
After many years of developing content for individual companies, I started to develop relationships, consult, and provide direct impact across many business lines from solar and energy storage, to electrical vehicles and general renewables business management. My passion is successful operations through competent professionals and technicians that operate safe and effective as the energy transition progresses.
