She has four decades of experience as a consultant/facilitator/writer/life-coach, working with a diverse clientele, including large and small businesses, city and county governments, state and national organizations, and religious and secular institutions. Shirley is passionate about equipping others and about the health and growth of the church. She has served on staff at Grace Commons Church Boulder as their Catalyst for Equipping Ministries since 1999 and believes that discovering and developing your gifts is vital to growth to maturity in Christ and serving is key to spiritual development and community-building. Over the past 30 years, Shirley has taught spiritual gifts courses to thousands of participants, served as a Spiritual Gifts Coach, and trained hundreds of leaders—of all ages. She has also served on the faculty teams and developed curriculum for Group Publishing’s Equipping Institutes (levels 1, 2, 3, and 4), the Leadership Seminar Series on Volunteer Management (levels 1, 2, and 3), Your Unique Design Classes, and National Sheriffs’ Executive Leadership Institute. Shirley holds her BA from Stanford University and her MS from Boston University and is a graduate of the IBM Community Executive Excellence in Management program, the Common Ground Mediation Center, Conflict Coaching, Stephen Ministry, Coaching with the Enneagram, Leadership Training Network, and Spiritual Direction. In her leadership and team coaching and consulting work, she specializes in collaborative dialogue around a wide variety of subjects, including resilience, communication, trust, values, conflict, change and transition, personal style, resource-management, self-care, self- and other-awareness, and purpose. Her extensive media background, working for both radio and television stations for more than 20 years, adds communications and public relations proficiency to all she does. Shirley has been married to her husband since 1982. They have two adult daughters and one son-in-law. They all love to travel and have managed to visit all six continents multiple times in the past 12 years.
