Eline van Ommen is a Lecturer in Contemporary History at the University of Leeds. She is a historian of Latin America and the Cold War, specializing in revolutions, transnational activism, and 20th century Central America. Her first book, entitled Nicaragua Must Survive: Sandinista Revolutionary Diplomacy in the Global Cold War was published by the University of California Press in December 2023. TEline completed her PhD in International History at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2020. Her thesis won the British International History Group (BIGH) Michael Dockrill thesis prize in 2021. She previously taught history and international relations at the Utrecht University and the LSE.
