Esmeralda Lovatelli was born in Venice in August 1970. She grew up in North Italy and often travelled during her childhood with her family. Esmeralda studied Law in Florence but could never finish her studies as she followed the love of her life to Africa in 1994. In 1995, she married Paolo Lovatelli and started a big family with five children to which she dedicated her life. Due to the firstborn child’s health, Esmeralda and her family returned to the Venetian countryside in 1997. After twenty years she encouraged her husband to accept a job offer in Kenya, where she then also returned with her family and still lives there. Whilst living in the land that she loved among its people, Esmeralda was able to volunteer in an institute for abused children. Then, she started her own handmade bag business and was able to sponsor an orphan who suffered from cognitive challenges directly.
Since 2020 she has been dedicated to writing fiction novels based on true stories, mostly set in Kenya.
