Candice Ballard

Candice Ballard, born in 1986 from the sweet southern state of Georgia, is the only daughter mixed between four brothers. Candice grew up with horses and dogs, playing sports, climbing trees, scraping knees, clogging, skating, heavily involved with the local and state 4H and FFA, riding and racing dirt-bikes and go-carts and giving her dad grey hairs. Her granddaddy “Skeet” retired from the US Army and the original General Motors assembly line and then worked out of his four bay garage he built that is still standing today. The whole family has always been diehard Chevrolet and GMC connoisseurs. Candice has always stood out and has always gone to the beat of her own drum. She grew up showing, training, selling, and raising horses and pigs; competing in beauty pageants, modeled, even did runway walks, competitively clogged, and did anything but sit still. Just like her hobbies and activities, she never fit any type of mold nor clique. And to this day, she’s the same exact way (maybe worse). Candice attended ABAC college, the University of Georgia and Kansas State University focusing in early childhood education with emphasis in special needs, animal science with emphasis in equine and agricultural education. She worked ten years in early childhood education and trained horses from age eight to age thirty-six. Now Candice Ballard is a full-time hot rod building, proud mother of two awesome sons, car show addict, truck loving, sweet tea drinking, crime show watching and the proud lady to an amazingly talented hot rod and rat rod building best friend and soul mate, Cooley. They get to work alongside each other building and creating unique builds at ChopD Ratz Garage. Candice is also an accomplished author, known for her captivating storytelling for the youth. Candice is the proud owner and creator of SquareBarbie, her 1977 Chevrolet C10 custom build and The Teal Wheel Project, which was created while building SquareBarbie.to promote individuality, inclusivity and empowerment for the youth with emphasis to girls being accepted and promoted into the automotive world. With a heart full of generosity, she is a dedicated giver, avid hugger, and an unapologetic lover of all things Chevy, teal, skulls, horses, southern charm, and eccentricity.
