I graduated as a veterinarian in 1999 after having completed a thesis on pathology of marine wildlife. I liked pathology a lot, but I wanted a wider understanding of health, so I pursued a master's degree in marine Ecology. This allowed me to understand infectious diseases from another perspective. I went to Cambridge (UK) for my PhD, and learned much on immunology, genetics and molecular biology. I defended my thesis on immunogenetics and was offered a Postdoctoral Research Fellowshio in Wildlilfe Epidemiology at the Institute of Zoology in London. I am currently a full-time Professor at the Autonomous Universit of Queretaro, in Mexico. Since early 2020 I have investigated the pandemic and aspects of its control. This has inevitably led me to detect discrepancies and absurdities which I believe are essential to communicate in a way in which all people can understand them. That is why I wrote "Efectos Adversos" (Adverse Effects) which I will soon publish translated into English.
