Alex Allera

Alex Allera is a shihan-dai of Hyōhō Taisha-ryū and leader for the organization of the school’s activities outside Japan. His long experience as a martial arts practitioner and independent researcher concentrates on mediaeval Japanese swordsmanship, philosophy and warfare. He is a collector of historical documents of the Taisha-ryū and currently holds the most extensive collection thereof in the world. He has a master's degree in Industrial Chemistry and is one of the two chief research officers of the Taisha-ryū Historical Research Group (THRG).
