Ian Nicholson

Ian Nicholson is an IFMGA/UIAGM Mountain Guide Based in Seattle, Washington. He has been guiding for 18 years, is an AMGA certified Alpine, Rock, and Ski guide, and currently works on the AMGA's national Instructor Team. His passion and enthusiasm for the mountains are infectious as they are well-known. His experience also ranges from having established over a dozen new routes from Patagonia to the Waddington Range. He has authored the guidebook SUPERTOPO: Washington Pass Climbing as well as Climbing Self-Rescue: Essential Skills, Technical Tips & Improvised Solutions, which provides tips, tricks, and techniques on how to get yourself out of tricky situations both big and small, as well as tactics to avoid them in the first place.
