Pete Docter

Pete is the director of Monsters, Inc., Up, Inside Out and Soul, but has an interest in all things animation. He began making flipbooks at age eight, and at sixteen began his professional career painting cels and later inbetweening at several commercial houses in Minneapolis, where he grew up. Pete studied at the California Institute of the Arts, and started work at Pixar Animation Studios in May 1990. He was part of the core story team that wrote and created Toy Story, for which Pete also served as supervising animator. In addition to his directorial efforts, he wrote on Toy Story 2 and WALL-E and currently serves as Pixar's Chief Creative Officer.
