Dr. Jen lives in the hot desert of Arizona with her daughter Samantha, 3 cuddly cats and a Great Dane who thinks she's a lap dog! When Dr. Jen is not in her office, she loves to spend her time laughing and traveling with her now teenaged daughter. After over 20 years of private family practice, she noticed a drastic change in children's behavior. How they perceived and reacted to their environment showed that children were having severe trouble with connection and empathy. The lashing out of little ones was becoming more common. Parents, as well as their children, were at their wits end. Dr. Jen shares examples in her books to learn from. Both parents and children can connect with her books through story telling about her own daughter's experiences, as well as Dr. Jen's role as a mother. Take note of how she speaks to her daughter, take note of her posture and the role playing she uses for Samantha throughout the stories. Let us hope these books can start to bridge the gap, through story telling about Dr. Jen's silly Samantha, with examples to help parents raise kids with stronger connection abilities and empathy--because our world needs this.
