Hello, I'm Michelle Widmer-Schultz, an artist and teacher who grew up in Chicago and Mexico City. While studying in Rome during college, I met my future husband, Andreas, a tall Swiss Guard serving under Pope John Paul II. We now live with our son, Eli, my Mom, Rosario,and our cat, Miss Kitty, in Maryland. Believe it or not, this book is based on a true story that he experienced in his first months as a Swiss Guard!
