Lori is first and foremost a mom of two. She is an author, personal trainer, health enthusiast, volunteer, and get-er-done Type A striver. She competed as a Division I athlete at Purdue University. After earning her MBA, Lori worked at Procter & Gamble in both brand-building and people-building roles. She is a ketogenic diet guru and macronutrient wizard due to her daughter’s rare genetic disorder. Her faith in Jesus guides everything she does. She has a special affinity for Elton John and Great American Christmas movies. Lori lives with her husband, children, and two dogs in the Midwest where her goal is to help moms win the long-game. When Lori Arnold became a mother, her world was shaken, and it wasn’t the unknowns of caring for a baby that did it. It was the tension placed on her marriage. The trade-offs in managing a baby and a career. A shift in her personal identity. The recognition of her now-central job as teacher. The crazy things her kids regularly threw at her and so much more. Had she only had a heads up, she would have experienced far more joy in those early years. In response to the challenges, Lori became a student of motherhood, diving into a myriad of books, seminars, training sessions, podcasts, and research. These resources provided useful information that Lori curates and offers throughout her new book “Heads Up Mom.” More significantly though, many of the real struggles she faced as a new mom did not surface in all her research. Lori remedies this outage with “Heads Up Mom.” Here, she breaks down the changes and challenges that are inseparable with welcoming a baby and teaching them through toddlerhood – and shines a light on the hidden blessings and soul-building growth that is wonderfully intertwined with it all.
