Peter Zachari is a New York City based playwright, actor and director whose plays include The Chesapeake Chicks, Knock It Off!, One Love, The Third Gender, Lighten Up!, Loosen Up!, Live It Up!, and Shake It Up!. He wrote the book and co-wrote lyrics for the musicals Parker & Dizzy's Fabulous Journey to the End of the Rainbow and Fat Asses: The Musical. His latest play, The Chesapeake Chicks, featuring Karen Lynn Gorney, star of the movie "Saturday Night Fever," played to sold-out audiences at Theater for the New City in October 2023. A member of Actors' Equity Association, Peter has appeared in TV, film and theater throughout New York City as well as Florida, Massachusetts, Indiana and Tennessee. For several years, he taught Acting and Directing for the Department of Theatre at Salem State University. Originally hailing from Salem, Massachusetts, Peter obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts at Salem State University and a Master of Fine Arts at the University of Florida.
