Cam Inman has covered the 49ers and the NFL since 2000, doing so as a beat writer and columnist for the Bay Area News Group and as a weekly analyst on CBS-5 San Francisco. Cam is a Bay Area native who was born in Santa Clara and raised in Cupertino. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in journalism from Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, where he volunteers each summer with the California Scholastic Press Association as a board member and instructor. He is also the author of The Bay Area’s Best Sports Arguments, in which John Madden wrote the foreword. Cam can be found on social media platforms under the handle @49ers.Cam. He turned pro as a sportswriter at age 16, working for the Cupertino Courier while also serving as editor-in-chief of Monta Vista High’s newspaper. He's also worked at the San Luis Obispo Tribune and the Santa Maria Times before returning to the Bay Area in 1995 and joining Pleasanton's Valley Times. He and his wife, Jennifer, live in Pleasanton, where they’ve raised three children. Cam enjoys golfing (one hole-in-one, so far), running (some half-marathons, no fulls), traveling (all NFL cities, half of MLB, some of Europe, someday Australia), discovering local IPAs, selling homes as a licensed Realtor, and, most of all, spending time with family and friends.
