Angela Sedran

Angela Sedran grew up in the twilight of apartheid South Africa, the only child in a household brimming with love and a touch of chaos, courtesy of her German Oma, Italian Nonna, and ten rescue dogs. Her father, a perfectionist, introduced her to dieting at nine, beginning her lengthy struggle with self-esteem and an eating disorder. Despite these challenges, Angela became the peacekeeper and tutor within her circle, unknowingly setting the foundation for her future as a master facilitator and mentor. Her aspirations of becoming an architect or veterinarian were set aside for practicality, leading her to accounting, following her father's guidance. Life presented its share of challenges, including becoming a young widow and single mother, which pushed her dreams further out of reach. The increasing violence in her surroundings prompted a move to Australia, seeking safety for herself and her son. Demonstrating grit and determination, Angela pursued an MBA, juggling motherhood and academics, particularly when confronting her son's hearing issues. Her career journey ranged from negotiating joint ventures with India's largest property developer to being a strategy director at one of the world's largest legal publishing firms, until the Global Financial Crisis resulted in her retrenchment. Transitioning into consulting, she assisted bluechip companies in implementing management systems and leadership skills that engaged employees and yielded results. In late 2015, after scammers exploited her son’s naivety to defraud her of over one hundred thousand dollars, Angela relentlessly pursued the international scammer, successfully reclaiming her money, including interest, by August 2016. This experience, though challenging, was liberating and fueled her passion for aiding others in achieving a life on their own terms. She ventured into entrepreneurship, driven by a profound desire to help individuals attain the means to live their best life on their own terms leveraging her management and leadership expertise. Angela's company, The Business Growth Accelerator, helps private scaling businesses scale efficiently and sustainably. They serve business owners looking to create self-sustaining operations and develop high-performance leadership to achieve long-term growth and prepare for a potential exit. Angela is also an author, speaker, and creator of The Ascendant Leadership programs designed to empower business leaders with the necessary systems and leadership skills to elevate their businesses. She likens her role to that of a trusted engineer advising a Formula 1 driver, guiding clients through the intricacies of business with strategy and support.
