After earning his bachelor’s in psychology from Sam Houston State University, Brian Smith began working in Edinburgh, Texas as a counselor for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and shortly after started working as a prevention and intervention specialist, outreach coordinator, and counselor for Montgomery County Youth Services. In 2001, he joined Houston Independent School District at Marshall Middle School Academy of Fine Arts, where he taught various subjects over the course of 11 years, including special education, ESL, science, and mathematics. Mr. Smith earned a master’s in education administration from the University of St. Thomas in 2010, and became Holy Spirit Episcopal School's head of student life and director of technology in 2012. A lifelong learner with multiple classroom and educational leadership trainings under his belt, he uses both his skills as an educator and his technological mastery to make Holy Spirit an even better place. Brian Smith is also an educational consultant and certified trainer for the Center for Responsive Schools, and provide training for teachers and administrators across the country.
