Dr. Lori Croom-Bush is a child of God, first and foremost. She is a native of Birmingham, Alabama where she grew up as the middle child of five. Dr. Lori is a professional, an entrepreneur, a best-selling author, a wife, and a mother. She is a Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. She went on to UAB School of Optometry where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree. Shortly after graduation, Dr. Lori opened her eye clinic, NowVision Eye Care, where she has practiced for 12 years. In 2017, Lori became a viral internet sensation when her comical, yet spiritual interpretation of "Wipe Me Down" garnered millions of views online. The overwhelming reception of her video inspired her to create @mygodtoday, an Instagram page where she takes popular songs and provides her followers with a motivating and spiritual interpretation of the lyrics. This would eventually lead to Dr. Lori's first book, My God Today: 365 Devotions For People Who Might Be A Lil Ratchet (But God Knows Your Heart) and her second book, God Be Knowin’: 365 Devotions For People Who Are As Undefeated As Al Green's Internet. In her spare time, Dr. Lori enjoys spending time with family, traveling, eating tacos, watching reruns of A Different World, and making people laugh. She is a member of Faith Walkers Church and currently serves as the chaplain of the Birmingham Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
