Dr. Frank Torti has devoted his career to providing the best possible care for his patients. He has been consistently selected as one of “America’s top doctors” and “top cancer doctors” in national surveys. He has also held leadership roles in healthcare that have given him unique insights into hospitals, insurance, and the development of new drugs. He was Acting Commissioner and Chief Scientist of the United States Food and Drug administration, Dean of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and Health Center, and served on the Board of a multi-billion-dollar non-profit health insurance company. Dr. Torti received his M.D. from Har¬vard Medical School (cum laude), and his M.P.H. from the Harvard School of Public Health. He trained as a medical intern and resident at the Beth Israel Hospital, Boston, a Harvard teaching hospital, and as a fel¬low in medical oncology at Stanford University. He became a tenured faculty member at Stanford Medical School, and later moved to Wake Forest as Director of their Com-prehensive Cancer Center and founding Chair of the Department of Cancer Biology. He is the founding President of the Cancer Biology Training Consortium. He is currently Board of Trustees Professor of Medicine at the UConn Health Center.
