Jennifer Hays-Grudo is a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at Oklahoma State University in Tulsa, where she leads a research center focused on understanding the effects of childhood adversity. With Dr. Amanda Morris, she published the first scholarly book on the effects of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), highlighting the role of protective and compensatory experiences (PACEs), the positive experiences that build resilience. They followed this with a book for parents who want to break the cycle of adversity and trauma in their own families. Dr. Hays-Grudo has mentored dozens of psychologists and scientists conducting research to better understand the effects of childhood adversity and create programs to help children and adults recover and lead happy and successful lives.
