James (Jamie) Slaughter is a native of South Charleston, West Virginia. He holds a BA in history from West Virginia University, a MA in military history from Norwich University, a MAT from Marshall University, and a PhD in history from the University of Wolverhampton. He is interested in the development and implementation of military doctrine in France and Germany from 1870 to 1945, and the causes, course, and outcomes of the American Civil War, along with a running interest in the development of military small arms from 1750 to 1945. He is published both popularly and academically, and has multiple works being released in the coming years.
